David Abrahamson, Abstract ArtistI’ve been a graphic designer/digital illustrator for many years and honored
with awards in local, national and international design competitions. As a painter of abstract art, I enjoy the tactile experience of using a real brush and real paint as opposed to digital versions to express my creative visions. I no longer miss having the “undo” button and instead “go with the flow” of whatever happens on the canvas. The interaction of color and texture, the feel of paint on your hands, the sounds of the brush and palette knife on the canvas...much more rewarding than the click of the mouse and keyboard. When creating my paintings, my primary goal is to compel viewers to not only experience the work visually, but to feel the urge to touch them. Although my paintings are abstract, they can sometimes resemble landscapes “as seen from above" or something otherworldly such as nebulae. My paintings are spontaneous, intuitive and organic. I like to experiment with different mediums, textures and color combinations to create something unexpected and unique. |
